Welcome to My Personal Page
As coordinator for the SPCA Paws for Love program I see first hand the difference that our teams make in our community. When I started back in 2006 we only had six teams visiting a few nursing homes. We will by the end of 2018 have 500+ teams of dogs, cats, and a bird doing visits at close to 200 facilities all over WNY. We are the only completely volunteer run program at the SPCA.
When people ask me why I do Paws for Love, I tell them it is a labor of love for me. My grandmother suffered from Alzheimer's for many years. That was back when they didn't have the drugs/therapies they do now to help people suffering from this horrible disease. My grandmother was an animal lover. I remember her always having cats and dogs as I was growing up. I know that if she had been able to have an animal to pet when she was in the nursing home it would have meant the world to her. She is why I do this program.
I am proud to be a volunteer at the SPCA Serving Erie County. They do not receive any governmental funding. All funds raised to run the SPCA are by donations from people like yourself. Paws for Love is just one of the many programs and services that the SPCA provides to the community. Please consider donating. No amount is too small. Thank you!
